SUMMARY
A hard-working graduate with over three years’ experience in campaigning, particularly improving and ensuring human rights, equality and civil liberties. I chose to be a part of the the grassroots activism movement because I believe that real change comes from organising and motivating people to do something about what they believe in.
Outside of work I am interested in photography, social sciences and programming. I am training as a St John Ambulance first aider, and learning the art of bellringing.
If offered work, I would be available to start immediately. I am also eligible to participate in the JobCentrePlus Work Trials scheme.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Campaigns Intern, Islington Liberal Democrats
April – May 2010, expenses paid
In the month I interned with Islington Liberal Democrats, I learnt about the basics of campaigning with Liberal Democrat groups, including canvassing and operating their database system. I also gained experience with admin/secretarial work and furthered my knowledge of Liberal Democrat policy. Unfortunately, this internship came to an end due to a lack of funds.

Grassroots Campaigner, Open Rights Group
Dec 2009 – April 2010, £22,000 pro rata
My work at the Open Rights Group was centered on organising and promoting grassroots actions. Specifically, this included contacting ORG supporters to encourage and help them take part in our campaigns, facilitating events including training sessions and direct actions, creating links with other digital rights groups and maintaining and building the group’s wiki.

Committee Rep, National Union of Students
March 2008 – March 2010, expenses paid
I was elected a member of NUS Women’s Committee for two successive years, representing female students around the UK. Duties included supporting student officers in running events, campaigns and carrying out day-to-day work on campuses, as well as attending meetings to debate and vote on interim policy. I was also given the chance to chair debates and facilitate fringe groups at the annual NUS Women’s Conference.

Women’s Officer, University of Derby Students’ Union
July 2008 – July 2009, expenses paid
Elected by my Students’ Union in my final year of university, I set up a campaign group of activists, and represented the female students of the University around the campus and at Union Council meetings.
